EGYPTOLOGY PROGRAM NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Our very popular series of programs with Dr. Steve Phillips from the University of Pennsylvania is in danger of coming to an end. State budget cuts have eliminated funding for the outreach program, so if Dr. Steve is to come back, we need to raise the funds ourselves. The program has never been free. Ardent supporters of the program have helped pay for it by buying commemorative coffee mugs for each program. The challenge now is that we need to sell a lot of mugs to meet the total cost of the program and travel expenses. The mugs will feature Dr. Steve's photo, and the older mugs are still available if you want a complete set. Contact Karen Roszel at the library if you can help. Cost: $20 a mug.
JOIN THE DINERS' CLUB THIS MONTH
In May, the Diners' Club will meet on Tuesday, 14 May; Wednesday, 22 May and Thursday, 30 May at Ruby Tuesday, the restaurant where the Diners' Club began. You may call for reservations, 570-389-9750 or go to www.rubytuesday.com.
